The Ancient World: State and Politics

Studying the patterns of development of the political organization of society, it is impossible not to take into account its specific manifestations. Different states of the same socio-economic formation are basically of the same type. The protection of slavery, the exploitation of impoverished free citizens were the main concern of the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the rulers of Ancient India, Babylon and China, the propertied nobility of Ancient Athens and Rome. However, the state-legal institutions of these countries had their own peculiarities.
